DHC Joins Center for Educational Innovation’s (CEI) annual Benchmarks Kickoff
June 12, 2026 — Following a successful citywide exhibition at Center for Educational Innovation’s (CEI) annual Benchmarks Kickoff, students from South Richmond High School brought their social action art bench titled “No One Sits Alone” for a boroughwide launch at Clove Lakes Park, Staten Island. The bench will remain on display there through September 13, after which it will be featured year-round at the school. The bench’s title highlights the importance of community and togetherness in maintaining good mental health.
In addition to the student artists, remarks were provided by CEI’s Arts Education Senior Program Manager, Tia Walker, and NYC Council Member Frank Morano’s Budget Director, Briana Nasti. DHC was represented by Senior Director for Government Relations, Melissa Chapman-Samad. In a follow-up Instagram post, CM Morano said in part, “Thank you to CEI, the faculty and staff of South Richmond High School, and most importantly, these incredible students for creating something that will inspire our community for years to come.”
